Eligibility and Conditions: To be eligible for this grant, the applicant must either be enrolled as a full-time student in a college/university health care/mental health care academic program, and working under a faculty research advisor who has had training in neurofeedback or a non-student researcher/trainee in neurofeedback, qEEG, or neuromodulation area. Projects selected must be completed within 12 months of receipt of funding. Grant recipients will agree to submit one brief interim (example below) and one final investigation progress report and financial statement to the Grant Committee within the 12-month funding period. Grant recipients also agree to submit, within 18 months of receipt of funding, a publishable manuscript to a peer-reviewed journal, reporting the results of their investigation. Selection Criteria: Preference for funding will be given to projects that demonstrate potential for contributing to knowledge of basic processes involved in neuromodulation methods and technologies or to understanding of the clinical effects of neurofeedback or other neuromodulation methods with populations/disorders currently under-researched. Replication studies will be accepted when adequately justified.
Applicants are encouraged to also request a loan from our Equipment Repository to aid in their research. If items you need are not in our repository, please submit a request via email to admin@thefnnr.org and we will investigate the feasibility of acquiring it for loan.
Applicants whose requests are denied will be provided an explanation for denial and a summary of reviewers’ critiques. Questions regarding the application process should be directed to the Grant Committee at grants@theFNNR.org.
